Liz joined GeneDx as a Senior Genetic Counselor in the fall of 2008. Originally from Pennsylvania, she graduated from the Genetic Counseling Program at the University of Cincinnati in 2003. Prior to joining GeneDx, she worked in the Genetics Clinic at Michigan State University. At MSU, her primary role was as a pediatric genetic counselor, but she also provided services in the Hereditary Cancer Program and several specialty clinics. In addition, she worked with the MSU DNA Diagnostic Laboratory, where her responsibilities included writing reports, creating informational materials, and participating in marketing activities. Her specific interests include genetic testing for syndromic and nonsyndromic mental retardation and hereditary cancer syndromes. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors’ Familial Cancer Risk Counseling and Industry Special Interest Groups.
