Patricia McAndrew, PhD
Associate Director of Core Lab Operations
Patricia McAndrew is the Associate Director of Clinical Laboratory Operations at GeneDx. She earned her undergraduate degree at Bates College and her PhD in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University. She spent two years as a fellow in the Dept. of Molecular Pathology at Ohio State, developing diagnostic tests for neuromuscular disorders, including a carrier test for SMA. She continued her postdoctoral training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. Her research experience has focused on the development and implementation of novel techniques for use in molecular diagnostic laboratories. Her responsibilities at GeneDx include supervising laboratory personnel, analyzing and interpreting sequence data and working with Dr. Olivos-Glander and Roshni Alva to oversee the daily functions of the clinical laboratory.
