For full gene sequencing and cytogenetic tests, click here for specimen requirements.
Specimen requirements for prenatal diagnosis and maternal cell contamination testing:
- amniotic fluid, 20 mL sterile
- amniocyte or CV cultures, 2 T25 flasks near confluence, sterile
- cleaned CVS tissue, 10 villi (minimum 8 villi) in sterile medium
- CVS cultures are discouraged due to the tendency to contain maternal cell contamination. If necessary send 2 T25 flasks, near confluence, under advisement.
