Scanning Tech
GeneDx is recruiting for a Scanning Tech for our Records Management department. This is a full-time position and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Real time scanning for incoming accessions.
- Scans and uploads documents present in the patient charts.
- Scans mail, payments and other loose/additional documents.
- Actively checks for and corrects any scanning errors.
- Investigates and corrects any scanning errors identified.
- Assists with filing and the archiving process.
- Must be able to work afternoon and evening hours
The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED, previous experience working as a clerical/administrative assistant preferred, basic computer skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.

DNA Extraction Technologist
GeneDx, Inc., a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases is recruiting for a DNA Extraction Technologist to work as part of the DNA Extraction team.
Responsibilities include:
- DNA extraction from blood, buccal swabs, cultures etc. using various protocols and equipment.
- Diligent recordkeeping and reporting to team leads, supervisors and test managers as necessary.
- Perform assigned lab jobs e.g. preparing solutions, equipment maintenance, data entry, etc.

Laboratory Supervisor Core Sequencing Lab
GeneDx, Inc. a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory located in Gaithersburg, MD, that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases diagnosis for the purposes of confirmation of diagnosis, genetic counseling and prenatal testing is recruiting for a full time Lab Supervisor for its Core Sequencing Lab.
- Optimizes overall workflow of Core Laboratory working closely with Co-Lab Supervisor and ABI Supervisor and Lab Manager
- Supervises Core Laboratory personnel as assigned and oversees their workloads
- Extensive knowledge of PCR amplification, product imaging and restriction digests
- Current experience and knowledge of ABI sequencing and/or adequate robot experience
- General maintenance of a CLIA certified diagnostic laboratory.
- Develops, maintains and enforces team specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, anticipate problems and provide timely and appropriate solutions
- Coordinates the training of new hires, fellows and students
- Oversees schedules
The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field. We recommend two years experience in a similar type laboratory. Experience in leadership roles and training of personnel are also recommended. The position will require 3 days a week where the schedule will be ~ 11 – 7:30pm.

Array Technologist I
GeneDx, a diverse CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases, including prenatal diagnosis is recruiting for an Array Technologist for Microarray.
This individual will work as part of a team performing chromosomal microarray and/or exon arrays, qPCR, and MLPA for the purposes of detection of deletions/duplications at the chromosome and/or exon level, and determination of genotype in clinical DNA samples.

Senior Scientist
GeneDx, Inc., a diverse CLIA-certified and NYS-licensed diagnostics laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases, is recruiting for a Senior Scientist for Microarray.
Responsibilities include:
- Analysis of cytogenetics, exon-targeted, & whole-exome comparative genomic hybridization arrays, quantitative PCR, and methylation-specific and conventional multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification.
- Determining copy-number variations and/or long stretches of homozygosity in clinical cases.
- Accurately documents and interprets results of clinical cases.
- Actively participates in development of improvements of analysis workflow.

Responsibilities of the Genetic Counselor include: providing customer service to clinicians and genetic counselors on the full range of GeneDx tests; writing customized reports on a vast array of genetic test results; researching/developing educational materials to support new test development. Exome Sequencing Technologist

The successful candidate will be trained to perform capture-based Exome library preparations and sequencing protocolson the IlluminaHiSeq platform.
