Patients Accounts Specialist
GeneDx is recruiting for a Patients Accounts Specialist mainly for Insurance Billing & Customer Service. Responsibilities include:
- Insurance billing & follow-up
- Invoices medical claims
- Answers phones & handles phone calls regarding insurance billing
- Work with Sales Representatives on billing issues
Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, 1-2 years experience in medical Insurance billing preferred, good communications skills with a professional & pleasant speaking voice, basic computer skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work both in a team environment & independently.

Accessions Tech
This individual will work as part of a team of Accessioners in a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases. The Accessions Team receives all biological samples coming to the lab, enters information into the Laboratory Information Database, and interacts directly with the genetic counselors and laboratory staff to insure that all information is obtained on each sample.
The position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a BS in Biology, Chemistry, Genetics or related field. Other requirements include:
- Meticulous and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and focus in a busy environment
- Pleasant disposition and willingness to work as part of a team
This is an entry-level position that requires a BS only and pays $32,500 annually. Applicants with MS or PhDs will not be considered and need not apply. Position is ideal for a recent college graduate looking for their first job opportunity. Work schedule is Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5:30pm.

DNA Technologist 1
Core Sequencing Lab
GeneDx, Inc. a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory located in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases diagnosis for the purposes of confirmation of diagnosis, genetic counseling and prenatal testing is recruiting for a full time DNA Technologist I for its Core Sequencing Lab, a clinical setting using manual and robotic methods.
Responsibilities include:
- Using basic molecular technologies to facilitate testing
- Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Working cooperatively in a team and individual environment
- Diligent recordkeeping and reporting to team leads, supervisors, etc. as necessary
The position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired with the completion of the BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field with up to one year of relevant experience and meeting CLIA and New York State personnel standards criteria. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, as is the ability to work in a team environment.
The schedule for the Tech 1 position varies to include some combination of weekend day(s), evening(s), or early morning(s).

DNA Extraction Technologist
GeneDx, Inc., a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases is recruiting for a DNA Extraction Technologist to work as part of the DNA Extraction team.
Responsibilities include:
- DNA extraction from blood, buccal swabs, cultures etc. using various protocols and equipment.
- Diligent recordkeeping and reporting to team leads, supervisors and test managers as necessary.
- Perform assigned lab jobs e.g. preparing solutions, equipment maintenance, data entry, etc.
The position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired with the completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field with up to one year of relevant experience. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, as is the ability to work in a team environment. The schedule for this position is ~4:00 pm to 12:30 am Monday through Friday with the possibility of some weekend hours.

Array Technologist I
GeneDx, a diverse CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases, including prenatal diagnosis is recruiting for an Array Technologist for Microarray.
This individual will work as part of a team performing chromosomal microarray and/or exon arrays, qPCR, and MLPA for the purposes of detection of deletions/duplications at the chromosome and/or exon level, and determination of genotype in clinical DNA samples.

Genetic Counselor
GeneDx, Inc., a CLIA-certified & NY state-licensed diagnostic laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a full-time BE/BC Genetic Counselor to join our growing clinical staff of more than thirty board-certified geneticists and genetic counselors. This position is based in Gaithersburg, MD.
The position is available immediately. Responsibilities of the Genetic Counselor include: providing customer service to clinicians and genetic counselors on the full range of GeneDx tests; writing customized reports on a vast array of genetic test results; researching/developing educational materials to support new test development. As GeneDx supports multiple scientific conferences throughout the year, this position will require annual travel to genetics meetings and exhibitor responsibilities.

NextGen Technologist
GeneDx, a CLIA-certified diagnostics laboratory located in Gaithersburg, MD, that provides molecular diagnosis for rare genetic diseases is recruiting for a NextGen Technologist. This individual will work as part of a team performing Next Generation sequencing.
Responsibilities include:
- Sample preps for NextGen sequencing
- Set up NextGen sequencing runs on Illumina Genome Analyzers
- Manual and robotic PCR set up
- Use of robots for various applications
- Strict compliance of basic protocols for laboratory procedures
- Perform all quality checks associated with laboratory procedures
- Diligently and accurately records work and reports results to team leads, supervisors and test managers, as necessary
- Performs weekly assigned lab jobs e.g. maintaining inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry, etc.

Senior Analyst, Next Generation Sequencing Lab (Elmwood Park, NJ)
GenPath a sister laboratory of GeneDx is a diverse CLIA-certified and NYS-licensed diagnostics laboratory in Elmwood Park, NJ that specializes in women’s health and oncology. We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst for our next generation sequencing laboratory.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Analysis and interpretation of sequencing data from clinical patients
- Management of bioinformatics and work-flow processes
- Assisting in scaling up of the next gen aboratoory
- Implementation of improvements to laboratory operations
The successful candidate must have a PhD with a molecular genetics background, plus 2 years of relevant work experience. Previous experience in a CLIA-certified lab is preferred but not necessary. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.

Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field plus 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge in Human Genetics and Bioinformatics
- Familiarity with human mutation databases, genome browsers, literature searches, data reviews, and HGVS nomenclature.
- Expertise in sequencing data analysis (capillary and Next Generation) and PCR primer design
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels including providing guidance to lab technicians.

Genetic Counselor – GenPath/Prenatal

GenPath specializes in comprehensive prenatal diagnostic services, including routine screening, cytogenetics (prenatal karyotype, FISH, and array CGH), and molecular genetics (DNA Sequencing, point mutation analysis, etc.).
The position is available immediately. Responsibilities of the Genetic Counselor will include providing genetic counseling to pregnant women at high-risk OB and MFM offices.
